Good news! The group and I have chosen to go ahead and take all the information we have to an investigator in our area!
Turns out there's another group of people online who have been studying the same thing as us, and we have decided to collaborate with them and share each other's information about what we have so far. They shared historical journals and stories based on these beings, and after reading them I gathered a ton of more information. Here's what I have found:
Some people have documented that they look similar to their recent lost ones, or even almost identical to somebody they recognize. For some reason a small number of stories have had a similar storyline of somebody they know missing and coming back looking slightly different than before, someone they love passing away and coming back but not looking anatomically correct in the face, or something small about them being off. Some others have noted that when they see a person they recognize but look unnatural, a low consistent ringing sound plays in someone's ears while looking at them, but I have only read that in a few people's writing.
I was very confused on the ringing part and looked into it but found it may be just a fight or flight response to looking at something uncanny, or just tinnitus in general. Either way it's odd to me how something like that could happen. I am also stuck on the missing people stories. What exactly causes them to become missing and come back different?
That's the question I might ask the investigator if they are willing to investigate our conspiracies, but for now when I get into contact I probably won’t bombard them with a whole bunch of questions. I'll take it once at a time.
